I'm dealing with a frustrating problem on my laptop running Windows 11. Every time I boot up, I'm greeted with a black screen, but I can see the mouse cursor. This started happening after I uninstalled my GPU driver using DDU and tried to install the latest Nvidia drivers to fix some crashes while gaming. I've had similar issues before, but usually running 'sfc /scannow' would fix things. Since my warranty is already expired and I want to avoid a fresh reinstall of Windows if possible, I'm looking for potential solutions. Here's what I've tried so far:
- Pressing Win+Ctrl+Shift+B causes the cursor to disappear and reappear.
- I can't access any functions on the black screen, not even with Ctrl+Alt+Del, but I can get into Windows Recovery Mode by turning the laptop off and on multiple times.
- I've been unable to reverse the last performance update due to an error.
- The Windows repair option in Recovery Mode also failed.
- Safe Mode works without showing a black screen, but normal boot mode leads to the issue shortly after starting.
- Tried reinstalling GPU drivers with DDU and none of that helped.
- Running 'sfc /scannow' and DISM commands returned 'No issues found.'
- Diagnostics UEFI ran without any errors after several attempts.
My laptop model is Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16IAH7H, and I'd really appreciate any advice to fix this!

Hey! It sounds like you could be facing a hardware issue, but it’s worth trying a clean reinstall of Windows first to eliminate software as the culprit. You can find a step-by-step guide [here](https://rtech.support/installations/install-11/). If the problem persists after that, feel free to share more about what happens so we can take a deeper dive into the problem. Usually, 'sfc /scannow' is not very effective for these kinds of issues, so don’t get discouraged if it didn’t help!

Thanks for the suggestion! I actually managed to resolve the issue by using a restore point, which I should’ve thought of earlier.
