Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on upgrading my PC. Currently, I have a Ryzen 5 3600 and a GTX 1660 Super, but I've been facing performance issues with less demanding games like League of Legends and Overwatch 2, even on the lowest settings. I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I'm aiming for around 120 fps on normal settings for League in the coming years. Upgrading to an AM5 CPU isn't in the cards because of the high costs of DDR5. So, I'm curious if I should upgrade to an AM4 CPU and get a new GPU, or if just a GPU upgrade would suffice. I'm considering the RTX 3060. Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated!

I'd suggest starting with a GPU upgrade, since that's likely to give you the biggest performance boost. The Ryzen 5 3600 should be fine with a 3060, so you might not need to worry about the CPU unless you're doing heavy multitasking or want to future-proof a bit. Just out of curiosity, though, what changed recently for your performance issues? Are you trying to play newer games or is it the same old League?

I noticed similar issues after the latest driver update for Overwatch 2. It seemed like the performance dropped even more when I rolled back to the old driver. As for League, I’ve had trouble since season 15 began, especially when there are lots of players on screen. Apparently, there's a bug that can cause textures to render in ultra regardless of settings.
