I'm considering upgrading my GPU because my current GTX 1060 is starting to feel outdated. I'm using it with a Ryzen 7 7700 CPU, 32GB DDR5 RAM, and an MSI B650 Gaming Plus motherboard. While my CPU and RAM are performing well, the GPU is definitely holding me back.
I'm on a bit of a budget and can't afford brand-new high-end cards like the RTX 5070 Ti, so I'm looking at the RX 9070 (non-XT) as a more budget-friendly option. I've also come across a used RTX 4070 Super that is being sold locally.
I have a couple of questions: Is the RX 9070 (non-XT) a good upgrade from the GTX 1060, or should I skip it? And what price point should the second-hand RTX 4070 Super be at for it to be a better choice than an RX 9070 or even saving up for a newer model?

Both the RX 9070 and RTX 4070 Super would be huge jumps from a 1060. Just remember, pricing in your area matters! If you can share what you're seeing, that might help narrow down what's worth it.
If you can, just grab a brand new RX 9070 XT since the price difference to the non-XT isn't really worth it. Any of these options are going to be significantly faster than your 1060, so you can’t go wrong! If the XT is out of budget, the non-XT is still a great choice and better than the RTX 4070 Super.
The RX 9070 is a solid upgrade and will give you a significant performance boost over the GTX 1060. As for the RTX 4070 Super, if it’s under $500, that could be a great deal since the RTX 5070 is about $550 and offers better performance overall.
The RX 9070 is definitely a big upgrade from the 1060! If it's within your budget, you'll be amazed at the performance boost!
The RX 9070 is going for about $730. The RTX 5070 is around $630, and the RTX 4070 Super used is $500.
I recently upgraded from a GTX 1060 to an AMD Radeon RX 7600 for £180, and I'm really happy with it! It runs all the games I play without needing to pay over $500 for top-tier performance. If you can, let us know what you'll mainly use the card for—it could help guide your choice.

I live on an island, so my online options are limited to the Netherlands. The cheapest RX 5070 I've found is $630, while the second-hand RTX 4070 Super is around $500 and the RX 9070 is about $740.
