Hey everyone, I've just built a new PC with a Fatal1ty B450 Gaming K4 motherboard and a Ryzen 5 5600G. I'm trying to figure out which CPUs are compatible for performing a BIOS update. Can I use any Ryzen series, like the Ryzen 7 1800X or 2700X, or does it need to be a specific model? Also, I'd appreciate suggestions on the most affordable options I could get just for this update. Thanks!

You don’t really need a specific CPU for a BIOS update, but it can certainly help if your motherboard doesn’t support your current chip. Check the current BIOS version if you can; it might already support the 5600G. If it doesn’t, a Ryzen 2000 series like the 2600 should work for the update. Just make sure to check the motherboard's CPU support list first!
It seems like there’s no need for a specific CPU, but if it’s not booting, that's a different story. It’s likely that your current setup isn’t compatible with what you’re trying to do. You might want to consider trying a Ryzen 2000 series chip if you can borrow one or find a cheap used one.
Thanks, I'll check out some local listings for a Ryzen 2600 or something similar!

I think he might need a Ryzen 2000 series processor to boot up properly. To be safe, look at the manufacturer’s site!
