I've been struggling with a frustrating issue on my computer for about a year now—my WiFi keeps disconnecting randomly, or I'll experience high ping spikes that last a few seconds. It's only on my PC, as everything else in my house works perfectly fine on the same network. My WiFi signal is strong and doesn't drop, and my router is right below me, so I don't think it's a coverage problem. I can't use an Ethernet cable for personal reasons, but WiFi used to be really fast on this setup.
To try and solve the problem, I've done quite a few things: virus scans, running command line utilities (like flushing DNS), resetting the router and my drivers, even resetting my PC. I've disabled energy-saving features on my adapter, tried out four different WiFi adapters thinking they might help, and cleaned my PC. I've even dabbled with different WiFi modes (WiFi 5, 6, etc.), but nothing seems to work. There's really no solution I can find that fixes it completely, and it's driving me nuts! Can anyone relate or offer some advice?

Are you experiencing constant switching between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands? This can create lag spikes. You could try fixing your connection to one band to see if that stabilizes it.
Could your PC be hopping between different access points if your WiFi network has multiple? That could cause interruptions. Maybe check if you're connected to more than one access point and see if switching helps.
How would I check if I’m switching between access points?

I’m not sure how to check that. Any tips?
