Hey everyone,
I've been having a lot of issues with my MacBook Air 2020's battery lately; it drains quickly and won't hold a charge. Since I'm starting school next week and will need it for online classes, I thought resetting it might help breathe new life into the machine.
I reset it by erasing all the content, but I think I accidentally uninstalled macOS during the process. Now, I'm stuck in internet recovery mode, and I keep getting an error message directing me to check the Apple support website. I found online that I should be able to do a recovery by shutting down the Mac and holding Command and R, but doing that just sends me back to internet recovery.
I really need this computer to work for my classes. My mom has a Windows laptop, so I wondered if I could create a flash drive with macOS and reinstall from there. However, I can't even access the terminal due to this frustrating spinning wheel.
Does anyone have any advice or experience with this? Thank you!

Yeah, if it’s Intel-based, the -2003F error often means there's a problem with the Wi-Fi connection while trying to download macOS. Make sure you're connected to a reliable network. If you’re still having trouble after that, using a USB installer is a solid plan. Just grab a USB drive, and you can create the installer from your mom’s laptop. It may take a little extra setup, but it should help get you out of this jam!
First off, is your MacBook Air Intel or Apple Silicon? It sounds like you’re seeing error code -2003F, which can happen during internet recovery. You might need to check your network connection or try using a different Wi-Fi network. Sometimes the connection drops or isn’t strong enough for the recovery process. If that doesn’t work, you could try creating a bootable USB installer for macOS using your mom’s Windows laptop. Just make sure to follow a guide carefully for that process to avoid more issues.
