I'm on the hunt for a budget-friendly 4G modem priced up to €40. Currently, I'm using a regular SIM card in a cheap USB stick that I bought for €9. While it's been working, it tends to lag and requires me to unplug it frequently. I'm on the Irish PAYG 48 network, which offers unlimited data (500MB at full speed, which is sufficient for my needs). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Honestly, your €9 USB stick is doing pretty well for its price! But if you're looking for something more reliable that won't need constant resets, consider a mid-range 4G modem from Huawei or TP-Link. You can find some solid options on Amazon for under €40.
I just use my phone as a hotspot, and it works great for me! But I get where you're coming from; if you don't want to be bothered while online, maybe investing in a cheap used 5G modem could be a good route just for data.
