I'm trying to decide between the 9060 XT with 16GB of VRAM and the 5060 Ti with only 8GB for gaming at 1080p. Is there a significant advantage to choosing one over the other, especially considering Nvidia's technology?

I'd go for the 9060 XT any day. The better software from Nvidia doesn't make up for the lack of VRAM in the 5060 Ti, especially for games that demand more.
Definitely the 9060 XT with 16GB! The 5060 Ti is mainly for high FPS at 1080p or decent performance at 1440p. But with just 8GB, you might hit a wall with many games at 1440p due to VRAM limitations.
If you're leaning towards Nvidia, skip the 5060 Ti 8GB model. I've helped a friend build a rig with a 3-fan 5060 Ti he got for $400, and he's really happy. Meanwhile, another friend went with the 9060 XT and is just as satisfied. I'd suggest picking the cheaper option between the two, or consider spending a bit more if you’re worried about future upgrades.
Honestly, this shouldn't even be a debate. You definitely want to avoid the 8GB GPU unless there's an amazing deal on it. If you can find the 5060 Ti with 16GB, that's a much better option.

I think he wants it for 1080p, though. Isn't that enough?
