I'm considering getting an RX 470 8GB to pair with my Ryzen 5 5500 for some light gaming. I'm not aiming for 1440p, just looking to play at 1080p with around 60 FPS on medium to low settings. My budget is super tight, and I'm particularly interested in playing horror games like Poppy Playtime and Resident Evil, along with a few AAA titles, albeit at lower settings. Is this GPU worth the investment?

The RX 470 can handle lighter titles and older games just fine, but I’d be cautious about spending too much on it. If you can snag it for under $60, go for it, but otherwise, it might be better to invest in a newer card, like the GTX 1660.
Honestly, I'd steer clear of the RX 470. I used to have an RX 570 4GB, and it couldn't keep up with many modern games even at lower settings. The lack of VRAM really hampers performance, especially in newer titles. If you can, look for something like an RX 580 or even a GTX 1660 Super, which should give you a much smoother gaming experience.
From what I’ve seen, the RX 470 is decent for light gaming, but it really struggles with newer titles, especially if you’re aiming for 1080p. My friend has one, and while it runs some older games fine, I wouldn’t count on it for anything recent at medium settings. If it’s available at a good price, maybe consider an RX 580 instead, which performs better. What price are you looking at for the 470?

Yeah, if it's priced around there, it might be worth it. But anything more, definitely look elsewhere!
