I'm relatively new to Linux and decided to make the switch primarily to avoid Windows. However, I'm experiencing significant performance issues while gaming. On Windows, I could easily juggle several Firefox tabs and listen to YouTube while gaming without issues. But now, I struggle to even have one tab open without crashing the game.
Games need to be set to super low settings, or they crash entirely. For example, SCP:SL fails to load with higher settings, while on Windows, I could play it on high with little trouble. The same goes for Arma 3, which runs fine on Windows but won't cooperate on Linux, and Rust won't even start.
I have a GTX 1650 graphics card and think my CPU has a graphics driver. I also have 8GB of memory, which seems to be causing most of the crashes. I installed the NVIDIA graphics settings, but I'm not sure what to do next to improve my gaming experience.

Before diving into fixes, it’s a good idea to run a benchmark test so you can assess your current performance. This will give you a clearer picture of what's happening with your system.
