I'm trying to connect an ultrasound machine in our cardiac cath lab to two monitors. One monitor has a DVI port that I need to connect to the main cath lab screen, while the other monitor is a TEAC internal recording system that uses a VGA port. Can anyone recommend how to effectively split the signal from the US machine to these two ports? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I think you should look for a "DisplayPort to VGA DVI splitter". That way, you can split the signal and connect both monitors without any fuss.
You can definitely make that work! Both DisplayPort and DVI are digital signals, but you'll need a few adapters to get to VGA. My recommendation is to use a DVI splitter cable along with a DVI to VGA adapter. I've done this a bunch of times, and it usually does the trick. Just a heads up: switching from DisplayPort to VGA might bring some complications, so I'd prefer the DVI route. DVI generally has a better reliability when going to VGA, especially if you're only recording from the VGA. Also, check if your DVI port is dual-link or single-link before buying any gear. That can impact quality!
Just to clarify, there are different types of DVI connectors: DVI-A is analog, DVI-I is both analog and digital (should work fine), while DVI-D is digital only and needs an active adapter to connect to VGA.

Thanks a lot for the info! If the DVI port is dual-link, would it still work the same way?
