I've had a really frustrating experience with my iPhones lately. A few days ago, my iPhone 11, which I bought refurbished about 2.5 years ago, stopped working. It wouldn't charge or recognize the charger, so the battery died. I tried cleaning the charging port and testing different cables, adapters, and outlets, but nothing worked.
Money is tight, so instead of repairing it, I ordered a refurbished iPhone 14 on a monthly contract from Currys, which promised a minimum 80% battery life and same-day delivery. However, when it arrived today, the power button did nothing, and it also wouldn't charge. I now have to return it for a replacement, and I'm feeling really frustrated.
Is this just a string of bad luck, or is there something I'm missing? What can I do to avoid this happening again? Should I be concerned about getting another faulty phone?

Honestly, buying from a third party like Currys can lead to these issues. You might end up with phones that have less than reliable parts. I'd recommend asking for a refund and steering clear of that retailer for your next phone.
If you've just bought it from Currys, make sure to return it right away while you're still within the returns window. For future purchases, consider checking out places like CEX where you can inspect and test used phones before buying. In the UK, Apple also offers new phones on a 24-month contract with 0% interest; that could be worth exploring too!

Thanks for the advice! I'm sending it back tomorrow. I'll definitely keep your suggestions in mind for my next phone!
