Does Upgrading My SSD Speed Really Fix Freezing Issues in Cyberpunk?

Hey everyone! I've been playing Cyberpunk 2077 with my SSD running at 550MB/s, and while it was good, I keep experiencing brief freezes at certain spots, especially when entering areas like Watson near the market and the hospital, and a particular alley in the center. I heard from someone that upgrading from a 4000MB/s NVMe to a 7800MB/s NVMe SSD solved their issues. I'm skeptical about whether moving from 550MB/s to 4000MB/s will actually make a difference, especially since those faster SSDs are quite pricey. Has anyone else dealt with this freezing problem and found that a faster SSD helped? I even posted a video showcasing the issue I'm having.

Sequential speeds aren’t everything! They only deal with single file transfers, which don’t matter much for gaming since games pull data in various ways. Most likely, the person who fixed their issue was reinstalling the game on the new SSD rather than the speed itself that made the difference.

If someone told you that paying extra for a 7000MB/s SSD would cut a few seconds off your driving time in-game, would you really go for it or invest that cash somewhere else? It's worth thinking about!

Have you tried a game reinstall? It could just be a random bug! I played Cyberpunk on a SATA SSD and never ran into those freezes. It sounds more like a glitch to me than an SSD speed issue.

Yeah, I tried reinstalling. Still got the same fixed freezes, but it’s only when I move between districts and then the game suddenly lags when I return to those locations.
