I'm experiencing an issue where my Ryzen 7 5800X's CPU frequency drops dramatically while I'm gaming. The frequency fluctuates from around 3.5GHz to as low as 0.5GHz, which causes my FPS to drop to about 30. I have monitoring software running that shows only a 5% load, which doesn't seem accurate. This problem started after I returned from a month-long break. My CPU temperatures are high but within a normal range, so I'm not sure if it's thermal throttling. I've only overclocked my RAM to its correct speed. Sometimes rebooting my PC resolves the issue temporarily, but it reoccurs. I'm wondering if overclocking the CPU could help, but right now it's not overclocked at all.

Have you checked if memory context restore is enabled? That could be affecting your performance. I'd suggest clearing the CMOS as a first step to reset your settings.
It might help to perform a BIOS update along with clearing the CMOS. Bad settings can really mess with CPU performance.
Changing a dead BIOS battery could solve weird issues like this. They're pretty cheap too! Just check if your system is a laptop or desktop.
