Hey everyone! I just noticed that the Crucial P510 1TB (PCIe 5.0) is selling for 130 euros, while the WD Black SN7100 1TB (PCIe 4.0) costs 150 euros. This seems surprising to me because it feels like the Crucial should be priced higher given it's a newer generation. Is there something wrong with the Crucial? I'm really curious about which one I should buy and why the Crucial is so much cheaper. Thanks for your help!

The pricing really comes down to basic supply and demand. Retailers set prices based on what they think the market will bear, not strictly on specs like PCIe generation or sequential speed. Sometimes, newer tech can be cheaper if a brand wants to boost sales or if there's simply less hype around it.
A lot of people get influenced by reviews and videos that hype certain brands, like the WD Black SN7100, which creates high demand. This ends up making those drives more expensive, even if other options perform just as well or better, like the Crucial. So while the Crucial is cheaper, it might just be a matter of perception rather than performance issues.
Got it! I just wanted to confirm that the Crucial doesn’t have any serious performance drawbacks. Thanks a lot for clearing that up!
When comparing these drives, focus on the actual speeds rather than just the specifications. That’s what really matters for performance.
I see what you mean! I just wanted to check if the Crucial might have any quality issues. Thanks for the tip!
For most everyday users, sequential speeds aren’t as critical as you might think.
WD Blacks have a ton of popularity and brand recognition, so they tend to command higher prices. If the Crucial P510 fits your needs, definitely consider it!

I get that! I just wanted to reassure myself that the Crucial is still a reliable M.2 and that the lower price isn't because of poor quality. I appreciate the answer!
