Which GPU should I upgrade to for better gaming performance?

I'm considering upgrading my PC because it's struggling with modern games. I'm not aiming for drastic frame rate jumps, but I want to get a decent upgrade that offers good value for the next couple of years while I save up for a completely new setup. Here are my current specs:
- MSI MPG x570 Gaming Plus
- RTX 2060
- Ryzen 7 3700x
- G.Skill Aegis 32GB DDR4-3200
- Samsung 860 EVO 500GB SSD
- Samsung 970 EVO 1TB M2 NVME SSD

I play at 1080p on a 165Hz monitor. Any suggestions on what I should upgrade?

Given your specs, upgrading your GPU is definitely the way to go. If you're after great value, the AMD 9060XT 16GB is a powerhouse that should double the performance of your current 2060. If you prefer Nvidia, the 5060 Ti 16GB could be a solid choice too, though it's pricier. It really comes down to whether you're loyal to AMD or Nvidia!

Do you think PCPartPicker will help me check compatibility for the new card? It seems reliable for that.

For gaming, focus on the GPU first since your CPU and RAM are already pretty solid for 1080p. Right now, I'd recommend looking at the RTX 5070 or the RX 9070 for mid-range options. Performance is quite similar, but keep in mind Nvidia generally has better upscaling technologies while AMD gives you more VRAM. Checking the used market for a 5700X or 5800X could also be some good budget-friendly options.

That sounds good! I'm really just looking for something to hold me over for the next couple of years.
