Why Does My 8GB RAM Stick Only Show 4GB?

I've got an older PC running Windows 10 64-bit, and I'm currently using a single 8GB RAM stick. However, when I check the system, it only recognizes 4GB of RAM. I've tried switching around the RAM stick and making sure it's seated properly. I even reinstalled Windows and performed all the updates, but the issue persists. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

Have you tried checking the memory in the BIOS? It could give you a clearer picture of how much RAM your system is seeing. If it still shows only 4GB there, let me know what the BIOS says so we can troubleshoot further. It's also a good idea to share a screenshot from a tool like CPU-Z to check the details.”,

First, make sure to check if the RAM stick is securely seated in the slot. Sometimes, it might look like it's in but isn't fully clicked in. If that's not the issue, take a look at the RAM label for any specifics or try checking your BIOS settings. That might give you more insights into how the memory is being recognized.
