I'm building my first desktop PC after using a laptop for six years, and I'd love your opinions on my specs. Here's what I've got so far:
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X with a turbo speed of 5.4GHz
- Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING B850M-PLUS WIFI AM5 with DDR5 support
- Cooler: XYZ HYDROTEMP AIO 360 ARGB Water Cooler with an LCD Display
- RAM: 2x Patriot Signature DDR5 16GB 6400MHz (CL34)
- Graphics: ASUS PRIME Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB GDDR6 OC
- Storage: M.2 Kingston SSD 1TB NV3 with a speed of 6000MB/s
- Power Supply: Asrock 850W 80 Plus Gold Full Modular ATX 3.1
- Case: XPG Valor Air Plus Black with 4 ARGB fans
I'm looking for feedback on what I could improve or change to either save some money or boost the performance of my build. Please be kind!

Honestly, this looks like a solid first build! If the price difference isn’t too much, consider getting RAM with CL32 timings instead of CL34 for a nice performance boost, since Ryzen loves faster memory.
For your Ryzen 5 9600X, you really don't need a 360 AIO cooler. A good air cooler would do just fine and you could use the savings to upgrade your CPU instead.
Which air cooler do you recommend?
The Kingston NV3 SSD is known for using QLC flash, which isn’t as durable. It tends to slow down after a couple of years. Look for an SSD with TLC flash for better longevity and performance when you can.

The CL34 RAM is the best I can find at my retailer, and they’re also building the PC for me, which saves me a lot of hassle.
