I upgraded my iPad to iOS 18 about a year ago, but I recently realized that iOS 17 felt so much smoother and more enjoyable to use. I'm hoping someone can guide me on how to downgrade back to iOS 17 without needing to jailbreak my device. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

You actually can't go back to iOS 17. People say it's smoother, but honestly, I don't think it's any better. You might want to consider just upgrading to iOS 26 instead since you're already on a somewhat older version.
I get that the animations might be a bit slower, but iOS 18 still gets more updates and security fixes.
Unfortunately, you can't downgrade to iOS 17 anymore since Apple has stopped signing it. Once they do that, it's pretty much impossible to go back unless you jailbreak your device.
If they’re not a fan of iOS 18, they probably won’t like iOS 26 either.
