Is 1GB of VRAM a Dealbreaker for Playing Grand Tactician: Civil War?

I was checking out the game Grand Tactician: Civil War on Steam and saw it requires 2GB of graphics memory, which I assume is VRAM. My laptop only has 1GB available. I'm not very tech-savvy, so could someone explain how much this would affect my ability to run the game? Will it be a disaster, or is there a chance it could still be playable?

Honestly, your best bet is to just try the game out. Steam usually allows you to refund games if they don’t work well. Just know that if it needs 2GB and you have 1GB, it’s likely going to perform poorly unless you make some serious adjustments to the settings.

Give it a shot! You might face some stuttering, but the game could still be playable. Just remember, it might end up using some of your system RAM as VRAM to make up for it.

If your laptop has 1GB of VRAM and the game needs 2GB, it's definitely going to struggle a lot. You can still try playing it, but I'd recommend turning the resolution and texture settings down quite a bit. Even then, don't expect great frame rates, unfortunately.

1GB is quite a bit below the requirement. Think of it this way: if a game requires 2GB and you only have 1GB, that’s a significant 50% difference! It’s like getting a coffee that’s only half-full versus one that’s just slightly underfilled. The game might run, but probably not well.

Yeah, those system requirements can be super vague. I saw benchmark videos of the game running on high-end setups at less than 60 fps. So, it might not run smoothly for you.
