I've been dealing with persistent lag, low frame rates, and stuttering for about 10 years now, even after upgrading several parts of my computer. No matter what I do, games take forever to load, and textures often don't appear until several minutes into gameplay. My current setup is unable to handle even medium settings for games; anything higher results in serious frame drops and stutters. When playing titles like Tarkov or Battlefield, I can only use the lowest settings to keep my sanity intact. It's frustrating because my build seems capable of better performance. I'd appreciate any help or suggestions to tackle this issue! Here are my specs: CPU: Intel i5-9600K at 3.70GHz, RAM: 16GB DDR4 at 1.35V, GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080. Feel free to ask any questions for clarification!

Have you tried reinstalling Windows? Sometimes a fresh install can clear up strange issues. Also, keep an eye on your temperatures while gaming; overheating could be causing throttling. Running benchmarks can help identify if any specific component is the culprit.
Have you tested running your games at 1080p? Just a heads up: pirated games often come with malware that can hog your system resources and cause stuttering. A clean Windows install might be a good start, and try reinstalling just your games through Steam to see if they perform better at 1080p.
That sounds like a solid plan to rule out potential malware and bottlenecks with the GPU or CPU!
Do you know if you have an SSD or HDD? Sometimes, using an SSD for games can significantly improve load times and performance.
I have one SSD and one HDD, but moving games to the SSD hasn’t seemed to help.

I haven't reinstalled Windows yet, but I plan to check that out tomorrow. I had some pirated games before, but I started having these issues long before that. I definitely won't rule it out, though. As for resolution, I run all my games at 1080p.
