I'm in the exciting process of building my own PC and I'm almost done! All my M.2 slots support Gen 4, so I'm wondering if a 1 TB NVME drive would be sufficient for booting. I have four M.2 ports available and I plan on using them for additional NVME storage for my games. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I'm running Windows 11, by the way.

A 1 TB drive is fine for booting!
A 1 TB drive should work, but if you’re worried about filling it up with games, you might want to consider a larger option, like a 4 TB drive. That way, you can have everything in one place and avoid storage issues later on. Plus, having a separate NVME for the OS and games could help spread the wear and tear on the drives.
True, and if you're looking at second-hand options, 1TB drives can be a lot cheaper. You could save money and minimize the risk of loss if one turns out to be faulty.
Honestly, a 1 TB boot drive is perfectly fine for your needs. If you want to keep it simple, just go for one larger SSD for everything instead of overcomplicating things with multiple drives.
For Windows 11, it's good to have at least a 512 GB drive for the OS. A 1 TB NVME for games is a solid plan; it’s easier to expand storage that way, and it might even help with performance. Consider doing a bit more research on splitting the OS and games across different drives—it could be beneficial!

I was thinking similar! Games really eat up space quickly. I plan to dedicate the 1 TB for the OS and have a 4 TB NVME for games. I also have an 8 TB HDD for pictures and videos since I record my trips and like to edit them.
