I have a 19-year-old 300W power supply unit (PSU) in my PC, and I'm starting to wonder if it's too old to safely continue using. It seems fine at the moment, but I'm concerned about the possibility of it breaking. Should I be worried about it frying my PC?

It's tough to say definitively. Like, it could just keep going, or it might give out unexpectedly. Old PSUs can develop issues, especially with capacitors. I'd recommend checking the voltages with a multimeter before relying on it.
Honestly, you could run it until it pops, but do you really want to risk damaging your other components? You might want to consider upgrading to a newer PSU if you can. It's a bit of a gamble with older units like this one!
If it's from 2007-2008, I'd be cautious. The technology back then was different, and it might not provide enough power on the correct rails for modern components. You might get lucky, but I wouldn't take the chance if you care about your setup.

Yeah, I'd think about getting a new one. Better safe than sorry, especially with the price of components these days!
