Can I Use Intel XMP RAM with AMD Ryzen 7 7700X?

Hey everyone! I'm not a PC expert, but I recently built my own rig after some research. Here's what I'm working with:

- Motherboard: GIGABYTE B650M AORUS ELITE AX ICE ver 1.1
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X
- GPU: XFX QuickSilver AMD Radeon RX 9070 OC Gaming Edition
- RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 (2 x 16GB) DDR5 6000 CL36-44-44-96 1.35V Intel XMP
- PSU: Corsair RM650, 650 Watt, 80+ Gold Certified, Fully Modular Power Supply

Everything runs smoothly, but I noticed that my RAM is currently running at stock speeds of 4800 MHz. I found out that to reach 6000 MHz, I just need to enable the EXPO feature on my motherboard. However, when I turn it on, my PC fails to boot.

I've tried updating my motherboard BIOS to the latest version (F39) and adjusted the speeds down to 5800, 5600, and even 5400, but still no luck. I also fiddled with voltage settings as suggested, but nothing worked. Now I'm back at stock speeds, and it's really frustrating. Is there any way to achieve 6000 MHz without having to buy a new RAM kit, as prices are steep right now?

You might want to check which slots you have your RAM installed in. Sometimes it makes a difference. Make sure you’re using the recommended slots for dual-channel.

Definitely try A2 and B2 slots. It’s often the best configuration for Ryzen setups!

Keep in mind that XMP is primarily for Intel systems, and your AMD board might not support it in the same way. Manual configuration is often needed to hit those higher speeds. If you’re looking for specific settings, I’d suggest posting more about your BIOS options to get better-targeted advice.

Yeah, some people have had success with manual settings. It might take a bit of trial and error to get it just right.
