Hey everyone! I have an upcoming interview for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Internship, and I just found out that they'll likely ask me about Kubernetes. Unfortunately, I have zero experience or knowledge about it. I'm reaching out for some guidance on what beginner topics I should focus on to get ready. My most recent internship was related to cloud infrastructure and CI/CD, so I'm familiar with AWS, Terraform, and the CI/CD process. Kubernetes isn't on my resume, but I was advised by the recruiter that it could come up in conversation. Any recommendations on what I should study? Thanks in advance for your help!

Honestly, would it be better to just say you don't know much about Kubernetes instead of pretending to have expertise? They’ll likely see right through it if you can't back it up with knowledge during the interview.
I’ve been in that situation before where I exaggerated my skills and got caught. Just prepare thoroughly and be honest about your knowledge level.
A good starting point is to understand the architecture of Kubernetes, as that's what tends to stump a lot of people. Familiarize yourself with kubectl commands, Persistent Volumes (PVs) and Persistent Volume Claims (PVCs), along with storage classes. Most of this information can be found in the official docs, but I'd suggest setting up EKS (Amazon's Elastic Kubernetes Service) to play around with it. It's a great hands-on way to learn how all the components fit together.
Okay awesome, thank you for the advice, I really appreciate it!

It’s not on my resume, so I’m unsure how deep they’ll go with it. I’m hoping it will be more conversational where I can just explain what I know.
