I'm wondering if it's safe to place my PC on a table that has a glass top. My table is made of wood, but the top is covered in glass. Could this pose any risks for my computer?

You can definitely place your PC on a glass surface, especially since it's supported by a wooden table underneath. Just keep in mind that while it's generally okay, there's always the chance of the glass breaking if something heavy falls on it or if there are any sharp edges on your PC case that could chip the glass. So, just be cautious!

So, as long as the wooden base is solid, I should be fine, right?

Definitely a risk, but probably not a big one unless the glass is old or cheaply made. Just avoid putting heavy objects on it and watch out for heat. Most heat from your PC will rise, giving the glass time to warm up evenly. Just steer clear of putting anything like metal spikes on it!

It should be fine, but be careful. Glass can scratch easily, so consider putting some felt pads under your PC case's feet to avoid any scratches.

Great idea! I think I'll definitely do that.

Honestly, it depends on the quality of the glass. Heat and weight can weaken it over time, but if your PC isn’t super heavy or overheating, it’s likely fine. Just be mindful of potential scratches and risks if you're moving it around. Glass does break!

You might want to build your PC on a softer surface like a bed first, then move it. Just remember to stay grounded when handling any components! A tiny static shock can destroy parts, and you don't want that happening after putting so much effort into your build!
