What part of my PC setup is holding me back?

Hey everyone! I built my PC a while back, mostly following friends' recommendations, and have made some upgrades since. Right now, I have a Gigabyte Z690 DDR4 motherboard, 16 GB of RAM, and a GeForce RTX 4060 Ti with 8 GB of VRAM. However, I've noticed that I'm struggling to run newer games lately, even at low settings. I'm getting odd visual glitches and stuttering while playing titles like STALKER 2 and Baldur's Gate 3. I'd like to know if I should prioritize upgrading my VRAM or my RAM, especially since I'm trying to keep costs down. Any advice?

It sounds like your graphics card's 8 GB of VRAM might be the weak link, especially if you're playing modern games that require more memory for textures and effects. Also, with 16 GB of RAM, you should be fine for most games, but if you multitask a lot or run resource-heavy applications, consider upgrading that too. Just keep an eye on VRAM needs as newer games come out!

Yeah, I agree! The VRAM is super important for your gaming experience. If you're aiming for better performance, a GPU upgrade might give you the biggest boost.

Definitely check if your games are utilizing all your RAM. If you’re just gaming at 1080p, 16 GB should be alright, but if you notice it's maxing out, that could also be a problem. It might be a good idea to look into a GPU with more VRAM if you're hitting those issues consistently with newer titles.

Exactly! It's all about balancing what needs upgrading first. If the games are pushing your hardware, that's a big sign.
