I've had my Lenovo IDEAPAD for less than a year, and it's been great until recently. Now, I'm experiencing some serious lag, especially when using Chrome. There's a noticeable delay when I type, and it gets worse with heavy apps like CupCut. I've checked for malware using Avast, cleaned the cache, and ensured there's plenty of storage left (a few hundred GB). I haven't installed many new apps, but it's becoming frustrating since I can barely type without lag. What steps would you recommend to resolve this issue?

Don’t forget to check what your disk is doing when it slows down. Sometimes it’s a specific program hogging resources that causes all the lag.
First off, open the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Escape. Check which apps are eating up your CPU and memory—screenshots can help but be careful about sharing any personal info! Go to the Performance tab and check your CPU usage and how much memory is in use. If your system is on an HDD and using 100% of that too, that could be your lag culprit.
Also look at the type of storage you have—it makes a difference! Switching to SSD can speed things up a lot.
It would be really helpful for us to know your laptop's model, OS, and RAM specifications. Could you add those details?
Without knowing your laptop specs, I’d guess you might be running into memory limitations—possibly 8GB is not enough for Win 11. Even new laptops can come with minimal specs. Consider upgrading to at least 16GB to see if that helps.
It’d help to know how much RAM you have. If you’re hitting 100% usage with only 4GB, that’s pretty normal for heavy tasks. But if you have something like 64GB and still see 100%, then there's a different issue going on.

Definitely keep an eye on your CPU usage. If it's been running for days, a restart can clear up some backlogs.
