I'm putting together a budget PC using leftover parts from previous upgrades. I've got a power supply that might be a bit overkill, but I want to make the best use of what I already have. I'm looking for recommendations on a motherboard and an SSD. The motherboard is especially important since I don't have a good grasp on the different chipsets, and I worry about compatibility and performance. I'm trying to keep costs low and I don't plan on upgrading this setup in the future. The primary use will be for playing strategy games and general home tasks. Here's a list of the parts I currently have: [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jwJd8Q](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jwJd8Q). Thanks for any advice!

What about your current build? If you’re working with older parts, you might consider upgrading to a B550 motherboard instead of piecing together dated components.
You might want to check out the ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4/ac motherboard. It’s a solid choice that supports a wide range of CPUs. For the SSD, a PCIe NVMe drive like the Patriot P310 960 GB would give you fast load times for games.
Thank you for the suggestions! I’ll look into those.
Honestly, if your power supply is rated as F tier, I’d recommend replacing it as your top priority. A bad PSU can damage your other components.
Thanks for the heads up! I didn't know it was rated so poorly. I thought it was decent when I bought it.
Right now, B450M and B550M boards are nearly the same price on Amazon—just get the B550M. The ASRock B550M-HDV is a great choice for your needs!

Yeah, I’m just trying to maximize what I have rather than spending on something entirely new.
