Why is my CPU temperature sitting above 80°C at idle?

I recently noticed something strange with my CPU temperatures. I built my PC two months ago and it's been running fine, with idle temperatures usually between 30-45°C. I even set custom fan curves to keep my Ryzen 9 9900X below 75°C while gaming. However, today after stepping away for about 15-30 minutes, I returned to find my idle CPU temperature was a steady 80-82°C. I tried adjusting the fan curves, checked the settings and task manager, but found nothing unusual. After a couple of restarts and still seeing those high temps right after logging into Windows, I'm at a loss. The only thing I noticed is that the pump and hose felt warm. I'm using a Corsair Titan 240 RX AIO cooler, and I'm not sure what to do next. Any ideas?

You might want to check the BIOS to see what temperatures it reports. If the temps seem normal there but not in Windows, you could have set your fan curves incorrectly. If it’s high in the BIOS too, then you may need to check the AIO cooler thoroughly.

I’ll give that a try and let you know how it goes. Thanks!
