What to Do About Moisture in a Phone’s Charging Port?

My brother accidentally dropped his Android phone in the snow a couple of hours before we were set to leave for a Boy Scout meeting. Thankfully, there's no visible damage and the phone still works, but now it's notifying him to clean the charging port due to moisture or debris. What should we do to handle this situation? Any advice would be appreciated!

You could use canned air to blow into the port. It helps clear any leftover snow or moisture that might be stuck in there.

Even if it seems dry, it's best to leave the phone alone for a few hours until the moisture message disappears. Sometimes it just needs time.

Just make sure the charging port is clean and dry. It's important to address any moisture as soon as possible.

Setting the phone somewhere warm and dry, where it can get good airflow, is a solid plan. It should dry out on its own in a day or so.

One approach is to hold the phone with the charging port facing down and gently wiggle it for about a minute. This helped me clear moisture out of my own phone before, so it might work for you too!
