Should I replace my 1080TI with an older card for audio output?

I'm currently using my NVIDIA 1080TI primarily for audio because I have four monitors connected to it. Unfortunately, NVIDIA has stopped supporting this older card with new drivers. I also have an old 2070 in another computer that I could swap in because I need an additional HDMI port for my old receiver to connect my speakers. However, I'm concerned about the extra power consumption if I do this, and it would render the old computer useless, which I'd rather keep intact for testing purposes since I do game development and need older cards for that. What would you suggest? Is there a better way to handle audio output without using an old video card?

You might want to consider selling your 1080 and just using a USB to audio adapter instead. That way, you can save power and avoid any unnecessary strain on your system. Plus, with a simple HDMI adapter for around 15 bucks, you can upgrade your drivers on that 3080TI you have, which is a much more efficient setup!

That's a solid plan! I've been in a similar situation, and getting a USB audio adapter really frees you from dealing with all that extra hardware. Plus, it’s much easier to manage.
