I'm gaming at 4K and focusing on CPU-heavy titles like Final Fantasy 14, World of Warcraft, and Factorio, plus I do quite a bit of emulation. Given my setup, do you think the upgrade to the 9850X3D is worth it or should I hold out for the Zen 6 CPUs?

Nope, you won’t see much performance change at 4K with your current setup. Most CPU-intensive games don't utilize more than 8 cores effectively.
Going from the 7800X3D, the extra cores won't significantly help your gaming experience at 4K. For better performance, a new GPU might be a more effective upgrade.
While there could be slight improvements when using features like DLSS, overall, benchmarks indicate the difference is not substantial, especially at higher resolutions like 4K.
Consider whether you're actually CPU-limited. If your GPU isn't consistently maxing out, and the performance bump isn’t significant for about $500, it might not be worth it now. Zen 6 is expected to be a much bigger upgrade, so waiting could be the smarter move!
If you're not playing competitive FPS at lower resolutions, the upgrade might not be necessary. Most games aren't that CPU-bound at 4K, so unless you have excess cash to throw around, it probably won’t make a huge difference.
