Hey everyone! I've got some extra cash and I'm looking to upgrade from my GTX 1660 Super. My current setup includes a Ryzen 5 5600, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, and a 650W Gold PSU. Right now, I game at 1080p, but I'm planning to switch to 1440p in the next year or so. I'm deciding between two GPUs available locally: the RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB for about $551 and the ASUS Dual Radeon RX 9060 XT with 16GB for about $477. That makes a price difference of $70 to $80. My main question is whether the 5060 Ti is worth the extra money compared to the 9060 XT. I'm focused on solid performance at 1080p and having some future-proofing for 1440p. Both options have 16GB VRAM, which is great, but I've heard the 9060 XT might perform better with traditional games while the 5060 Ti shines with DLSS and ray tracing support. I'm leaning towards the 9060 XT due to its better price/performance, but I'm uncertain if the additional features of the 5060 Ti justify the higher cost. What would you choose if you were in my shoes?

I'd recommend going for the cheaper RX 9060 XT. In my opinion, the NVIDIA features just aren't worth that extra cash.
Considering your prices, it absolutely makes sense to go with the 5060 Ti. You might appreciate the extra capabilities down the line!
Just keep in mind the platform you’re using—it matters a lot for performance!
If you're focused on gaming only, the 9060 XT is the better pick. But if you plan to venture into tasks like streaming, video editing, or 3D modeling, the 5060 Ti might be more fitting.
Actually, the 5060 Ti often edges out the 9060 XT in raster performance, even if it's not a huge margin. At 1080p, DLSS might offer you a better experience than FSR, but it's still a mixed bag depending on your games.
That makes sense! I guess it really comes down to what I prioritize in my gaming experience.
Exactly! If you're mainly gaming, the 9060 XT can do just fine.
In terms of speed, the 5060 Ti is about 4-6% faster for raster performance and even better for ray tracing. Given the price difference, either could work, but for 1080p gaming, the advantages of the 5060 Ti could be more noticeable.

That's a great point! I want to keep things future-proof.
