I'm trying to decide between getting a 9600x with 16GB of DDR5 RAM or the 5700x with 32GB of DDR4 RAM. Both options are available for roughly the same price where I live. Ideally, I'd like to avoid upgrading for at least the next two years, but I'm unsure which setup would be better for that duration. I mainly play games like World of Warcraft, League of Legends, and Rust. Right now, my system is pretty basic with just 8GB of RAM, a G4560 processor, and a 1050ti, so I need some advice on whether 16GB of RAM is sufficient these days and if the performance gain from the more powerful 9600x is worth it.

I'd go for the 9600x. The AM5 platform will stay relevant for a longer time. Even in about eight years, I think the 9800x3d will still handle most games pretty well. Plus, you can always upgrade the RAM later on if you find 16GB isn't cutting it.
Definitely lean towards AM5. Having 32GB over 16GB makes a bigger difference than choosing between the 9700x and 5700x. You'll appreciate the extra RAM for multitasking and future games.
Just go for the AM5 option—it's a no-brainer, honestly. You'll be set for a while that way!

Thanks for the advice! I'm torn between what to settle with for the next 2-3 years: is 16GB enough, or should I prioritize the 5700x instead?
