Why does my system boot into tty instead of the desktop environment?

I've recently run into a strange issue where my system is booting directly into a tty screen, instead of loading up my usual desktop environment. This just started happening out of the blue, and I can't recall changing any settings that might have caused it. How should I go about troubleshooting this?

First off, what desktop environment or window manager are you using? Knowing that can help narrow down the issue. If you’re using a display manager like 'ly', it should let you choose between desktop environments, right? What options do you have installed?

I'm currently using 'ly', and I can choose between Hyprland and KDE. The window manager isn't something I clearly remember picking though.
