Should I Upgrade My A320 Motherboard for a Ryzen 7 5700X?

Hey everyone! I built my PC some time ago and am considering upgrading my CPU soon. I've noticed that many people suggest upgrading to at least a B550 motherboard if I want to use a Ryzen 7 5700X. Eventually, I'm aiming for a B550 board since I want to get a 5800X3D as well. My question is, will I notice a real performance boost in games if I switch from my current Asrock A320M-HDV motherboard to a B550 right away, or can I manage with the A320 board for now while I save up for both the new motherboard and the 5800X3D? Appreciate any advice!

The main thing you'll miss out on with an A320 board is the PCIe gen 4 support, but if you're running a GPU like the RTX 3060 12GB, you might not even notice much of a difference right now. It's fine to stick with what you have for a bit longer.

Yeah, if your 3060 isn’t limited by PCIe 3.0, you’re probably okay for the moment. Just know that for future upgrades, a B550 might open up better performance.
