I'm currently using a Ryzen 7 3700x paired with a 3060 and it's been great for my needs. Now, I'm looking to upgrade my CPU while still using DDR4 memory since I already have a 64GB Corsair Dominator kit that I'd like to keep. My plan is to eventually pass down my old parts to my younger brother, but with the DDR5 pricing and availability being what it is, I think I'll stick with DDR4 for now. Any suggestions on what I should consider for my upgrade?

I recommend going with a Ryzen 5000 series chip, like the 5700X. It's a solid upgrade for gaming and works well with DDR4. You'll get a nice performance boost, especially if your main aim is gaming.
I've seen a lot of mentions of the X3D version. Is there a significant difference between the 5700X and the X3D? Just trying to understand if the extra cost is worth it.
