Last night, one of my rear fans started making a constant whirring noise, regardless of whether I'm running games or just doing homework. I've ordered a replacement fan, but it won't arrive until tomorrow afternoon. Since it's Friday night, I'm tempted to game a little. Is it safe to use my PC like this for a short time?

Yep, you’re good to go! Just check if there’s anything blocking the fan, or maybe it just needs a little grease on the spring.
In my experience, it should be fine. When your new fan arrives, take a look at the old one, too. Sometimes you can pop off a little cap, add some oil to the bearing, and bring it back to life!
If it's a case fan, you probably don't need to worry too much. Just keep an eye on it if it were the CPU fan or a pump. Those are a bit more critical!
Exactly! Just make sure it's not something too essential before you dive into gaming.
Honestly, a lot of PCs have more cooling than they need these days. One bad fan out of six or so isn't going to make a huge difference. If it bothers you, just unplug the bad one. Do you have any software for monitoring temperatures?
You'll be just fine! It could just be something stuck in the fan. I'd recommend shutting it down, opening the case, and giving the center of the fan a few gentle pokes to see if that unsticks it. If it turns out the fan is failing, don’t stress; it won’t burn your place down!

Good tip! I’ve done that before, and it worked wonders.
