I just bought a Ryzen 5 9600X and I'm using a Gigabyte B650 Eagle AX ATX AM5 motherboard. PCpartpicker suggests that I may need to update the BIOS for it to be compatible with my new CPU. Is that true, or will it have the right version already installed?

It really depends on whether your motherboard is old stock. If it’s been sitting on the shelf for a while, the BIOS might not be compatible with the 9600X. You can easily update it yourself with a USB drive using the Q-Flash feature on your board. Just check the manual for guidance. Also, the box might indicate the BIOS version, and you can look up the CPU compatibility list on the manufacturer’s site to confirm.
Thanks for the info! I was worried about updates since I don't want to mess anything up. I heard it can be risky.
