I'm looking for a lightweight two-pane GUI file manager that can make managing files easier. It would be great if it also has support for network functionalities like FTP or similar. Any recommendations?

Thunar is a solid option! You can toggle a split view using F3, and it recently added search capabilities, which is a nice enhancement. Definitely worth a try!

Double Commander is another one you should look at. Just a heads up, you may need to tweak the font and some other settings to make it look just right, but it’s very capable!

You might want to check out Midnight Commander. It's a classic option and has FTP support built in, though it's more of a command-line interface. If you're okay with TUI, it could be a good choice!

For two-pane functionality, both Dolphin and Gnome Files (Nautilus) have got you covered. They support split views and are quite modern and user-friendly!

Nice, I'll give Dolphin a shot! Any tips on using it better?
