I've been considering upgrading my monitor to an OLED model, especially since my current PC setup is decent enough for now. I've heard amazing things about OLED displays, but with prices rising everywhere, I'm curious if $725 for the cheapest OLED model on sale is a standard price or if they've increased drastically? Also, I'm located outside the US, so prices can vary due to tax differences.

I switched from an IPS monitor to an OLED a couple of years back, and honestly, I wasn't too impressed. Some things do look better on OLED, but there are also drawbacks. Personally, I wouldn't pay double the price for OLED compared to a good IPS. If you're unsure, I'd recommend checking them out in-store to see if the difference feels worth it to you. Some people love their OLEDs, but I'm not sold on them.
Totally agree! A quality IPS screen has stood the test of time and usually comes with fewer issues than current OLED models.
I spotted an LG OLED for about €460 recently while searching for a new monitor. I’m leaning towards that one!
That looks like a great deal! Just a heads up, though, the import fees might push the price back up for me.
$700+ for even a basic OLED seems steep, but prices might vary based on where you live. Generally, monitors shouldn't be that much more expensive now. Just remember, not all OLEDs are the same—there are various types like OLED, WOLED, and QD-OLED, plus different panel generations that can lead to differing performance.
The basic OLED monitors usually start around $350 to $400 on sale for older models. So, $700+ sounds about right for the latest high-refresh models, especially for 1440p and 4K.

Thanks for the insight! It sounds like my current monitor might still be good enough if the OLED's not a huge leap. I went to some stores a while back to test monitors and they only had standard setups, which was frustrating. I guess not all stores are created equal!
