Hey everyone, I'm concerned because my Ryzen 7 5700X is hitting around 55-60°C when I'm just doing simple tasks like browsing Chrome or watching YouTube with a few tabs open. I'm using the stock AMD Wraith Stealth cooler and applied some Thermaltake TG-4 thermal paste. I have two intake fans in the front and one exhaust fan in the back, which is right by the cooler. It's summer where I am, and my room tends to get a bit warm in the mornings, but it's cooler at night (I can't check the temperature right now). During these light activities, my CPU usage sits at about 4-12%. Are these temperature readings normal for this CPU? Am I missing something? I'd really appreciate any insights or advice, thanks!

It's not uncommon for the Wraith Stealth cooler to struggle a bit, especially in summer. Just make sure you removed any plastic covers before applying the thermal paste. How are the temps when you're really pushing the CPU?
You might want to consider getting a better cooler. Stock coolers can handle cooler room temperatures alright, but they tend to falter in the heat of summer.
I get it, I'm hoping a better cooler will help. Any recommendations for affordable coolers that are under 150mm tall?
Using a stock cooler that's already on the lower end for a 5600X and expecting it to keep a 5700X cool? That's a bit optimistic. Those temps are pretty high, especially for idle or light work.
I understand, I thought since both CPUs have a TDP of 65W, it would be fine. I’ve seen others run that setup without issues.

I reused the AMD cooler from my old Ryzen 5 2600, and checked for plastic covers before installing. Under load, MSI Afterburner showed temps around 80-85°C during gaming at 1080p with the case fans at 1600 RPM.
