Choosing the Right Tablet for College: Xiaomi, Matepad, or OnePlus?

I'm a budget-conscious student trying to make the best choice for a tablet. I've been weighing my options for over a week and I'm stuck between three models:

1. Xiaomi Pad 7 ($325 with keyboard and pen)
2. Matepad 12X (also $325 with accessories)
3. OnePlus Pad 3 (priced between $430 and $500 with similar accessories)

I've also heard that Lenovo tablets offer good value for money, but diving into all the specifications for each tablet is driving me a bit crazy. I'm primarily going to use the tablet for college classes, doing some light coding in languages like MATLAB and Python, and managing schoolwork during gaps between lectures. I'm seeking recommendations on which tablet would offer the best overall value and performance for my needs.

If coding is a big part of your plan, I'd actually recommend skipping the tablet and getting a decent budget laptop instead. It'll handle coding tasks much better than a tablet in the long run.

I don't intend to use it solely for coding. I mainly want something I can pick up quickly in between classes to make some progress on coding projects. Like, if I have 15 minutes, I want to try running some MATLAB or Python code on it if possible.

Go for the Xiaomi Pad 7! It’s the most affordable option, and honestly, all three tablets will perform similarly in your classes and with MATLAB. Your peace of mind is worth more than a $100-200 difference.

Thanks for the advice! I came across mentions of the Xiaomi Pad 8. Is that going to be available soon, or is it going to be months to a year until it launches?
