What’s the Best Way to Remotely Control My Parents’ MacBook?

Hey everyone! I recently moved out, and I'm facing some challenges helping my parents with tech issues because they aren't very familiar with computers. I want to find a way to remotely control their MacBook from my own Mac. Ideally, it should be simple enough that they can handle pressing a few buttons, as I'll be doing the setup. Any recommendations for user-friendly apps or tools that could help? Thanks a ton! 🙂

Chrome Remote Desktop is a reliable choice. It's easy to guide them through the setup for allowing access, plus it runs in the browser. Some folks find it easier than TeamViewer, which can require more frequent updates.

You can use TeamViewer; it's free for personal use and pretty straightforward to install. Just make sure to set it up on both your computer and theirs so you can connect easily.

Rustdesk is a good one too! It's open-source and free, plus it has a similar setup to TeamViewer but without the constant updates that can be a hassle.

Splashtop is another solid option. It allows for unattended access if that's helpful, and you can set a password for security. It's user-friendly too, so your parents shouldn't have issues.

AnyDesk might be what you're looking for. It's ideal for repeated support and lets them feel in control since they'll need to permit your access each time.
