Best Tools for Crimping and Cutting RJ45 Cables?

I'm fed up with crimping tools that bend wires instead of cutting them cleanly. I've tried a bunch of different brands, but none seem to do a good job. Can anyone recommend reliable crimping and cutting tools?

If you're mostly working with pre-made patch cables, consider not even getting crimpers at all! Just a 110 punchdown tool for jacks and keystones should do the trick. I keep an old crimper for emergency fixes on damaged cables, but otherwise, premade is the way to go.

I stopped using the cutter on crimpers and switched to good wire cutters instead. Along with a decent stripper for the insulation, I found that combo works much better—especially when I tackled rewiring big cabinets. It's a little more gear, but totally worth it!

For sure, I’ve heard great things about Klein and Fluke tools; they’ve always worked flawlessly for me. A lot of the issues people have might depend on the type of work they're doing.

Honestly, using snips for the job has been the best way for me. It's just easier and gives a cleaner cut.

Klein is definitely the way to go! They might be on the pricier side, but trust me, if you're planning to do more than just a few crimps, it's worth the investment. By the way, for shorter patch cables, I usually just buy them pre-made instead of crimping myself. It's often a better option and saves time.
