How to Set Up Wireless HP Printers on Linux?

I'm seriously considering switching to Linux, but I've got a few questions about using printers. Specifically, I need help with my HP all-in-one wireless printer. 1. How do I get it to work on Linux? What about the HP ink subscription and the Android app? 2. If I need to buy a new printer, where can I find options that are compatible with Linux? I want something that can print, copy, and scan, and it has to be wireless, ideally able to print from my Android phone as well. Since Android is Linux-based, will the apps work fine with Linux? Any advice would really help, thank you!

Honestly, getting HP printers to work can be a pain sometimes. I’d suggest looking into HPLIP if you haven’t already. It might save you some headaches!

Lol, I feel you on that one! I finally got mine working, but I mainly print from my phone, which is half the battle.

For your HP printer, the Android app should work independently on your phone, so you shouldn't have issues there. Most printers are pretty much plug-and-play with Linux, which is one of the advantages. Just check if your specific model is supported by doing a quick online search to be sure! Good luck!

I’ve got an Epson ET-2800, and Linux Mint found it no problem. It also worked great with Fedora. You might try that brand if you're considering a new printer!

I use a Brother laser printer, and it was recognized by Linux Mint almost immediately when I booted it up for the first time. Super easy to set up!

I have an HP all-in-one laser printer, and it just worked out of the box for me. I didn't have to install anything!

Yeah, same here! It’s nice when things just work. I would still recommend adding it to your system even if it automatically detects.
