I'm on a tight budget and can't switch to AM5 right now. I'm considering upgrading my Ryzen 5 3600 to a Ryzen 7 5700X mainly because I've been experiencing performance dips below 60 fps in games like Helldivers 2. Strangely enough, playing at 1440p seems to give me better frame rates compared to 1080p, which adds about 10+ fps in Helldivers 2. My current setup includes an RX 6750 XT and 32Gb of DDR4 RAM at 3600 MHz. Unfortunately, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D is too expensive for me due to scalpers, with the non-X3D version priced at around $150 and the X3D version at $250-300 in my country. Should I go for the upgrade or hold out for something better?

It definitely can relate to price differences in various countries! Just know that you're not alone in feeling the pinch with these scalper prices for components.
Honestly, if you can wait, consider the Ryzen 5800X3D or look for a used option. In the AM4 range, that's the most worthwhile upgrade right now. If you're eyeing a cheaper option, the 5600X is also decent for gaming without pushing the budget too hard.
If you're not using games that heavily use extra cores or threads, rolling for a 5600X instead of the 5700X makes sense. Plus, you could sell off your 3600 to make the upgrade cheaper. It's a solid way to boost your performance by around 20% without breaking the bank.
Upgrading to the 5700X might not be the best call. It's only slightly faster than the 5600, so it may not give you the performance boost you're hoping for. If you're getting higher fps at a higher resolution, that's more about the game optimization rather than the CPU.
I see your point, but moving from 1080p to 1440p changed my experience quite a bit. On my system, frame rates increase from around 65 fps at 1080p to 80+ fps at 1440p during less intense moments.
