I recently purchased a Patriot Viper Venom 6000MHz RAM with a CAS latency (CL) of 36. However, I found a similar RAM kit with a CL of 30 for just a little more money—about 5 euros. I'm wondering if I should cancel my order for the CL36 and get the CL30 instead. I have a 7800X3D CPU, and I am mostly going to play games at 1440p, but might also play at 1080p from time to time. Does the difference in CAS latency matter much for gaming performance?

For just 5 euros more, I'd snag the CL30 kit. The difference isn't huge, but if there's not much of a cost, it feels like a no-brainer to opt for the better option.

Can you explain how CAS latency impacts performance? Like, can I expect any real difference in frames per second?
