I'm putting together a new PC primarily for development tasks and gaming, aiming for solid performance with over 80 fps at 1080p on high settings for modern games. My budget is around $1000-$1200, excluding peripherals and storage, and I want this setup to last at least four years. I've ordered a Ryzen 7 5800XT on sale for $125, but I'm thinking about switching to an AM5 CPU like the Ryzen 7 7700 for about $280. Is it worth the extra cost for AM5, or is there a better option around $200-$250? Also, I'm considering GPUs in the $600 range and I found an RTX 5070 that fits my budget. Are there better alternatives in that price range?

If you're going for an AM5 CPU, keep in mind that it requires a different motherboard socket, so that could increase your costs. Check the price differences to see if it's manageable for you.
Would the price of an AM5 motherboard be significantly higher than an AM4 one? I saw one listed for around $100, which seems on par.
